What connects every part of our body?

Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place. It is essentially the fabric and glue that hold your God-designed body together.

Fascia illuminates the ancient truth written in Psalm 139:13: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

But here is what is interesting:

Fascia has nerve endings, holds memories, and responds to mechanical tension and pressure.

It is highly influenced by your nervous system. For example, when you get stressed, it can tighten up.

Fascia also has the ability to become tough, plastic like, and less flexible over time. When this happens, it can lead to the sheath (the insulating layer) around your nerves to become tighter and less resilient over time.

When this happens, it affects the signals sent from your body to your brain stem. This, in turn, affects your body's automatic functions, movement, senses, and how you perceive things.

This can create a whole host of symptoms in your body and worsen chronic pain, anxiety, depression, gut issues, heart issues, chronic fatigue, and more.

Learning how to care for your fascia system is a key component to treating your body holistically, restoring emotional and physical resilience, and cultivating a regulated nervous system.
