My Belief and Approach:
We repeat what we don’t repair. This is how pain patterns get passed down generation to generation. The best thing I ever did in terms of healing, was choose to break the chain and pursue healing. To dig deep into what it means to feel the pain both physically and spiritually and heal through it. It wasn’t until I quit putting bandaids over my wounds that I finally found freedom and broke free from the cycle.
My personal healing consisted in many layers, but can I tell you a secret? The first and strongest key component in my journey was: choosing to obey the gospel and allowing Christ to get to work on my dark, hidden, stagnant places. Once I repented and was baptized into Christ and came up out of that water, and continued immersing myself in Scripture, my entire life began to change. His Word and His people have been the best balm from my broken past and weary soul, and His Spirit has been the catalyst for continued, daily (and messy) growth, healing, and transformation.
The truth is, I can teach you all the nervous system hacks in the world. I can help you heal your gut, and balance your hormones. But without Jesus and the true form of repair He provides - Salvation - the healing is done in vain. He is the One that is able to bring peace to your past, regulation to your system, ground you with purpose in your present, and anchor you with hope for your future.
Instead of a broken path, you’ll become a bridge to safety. You’ll choose to meet anger with sympathy, contempt with compassion, cruelty with kindness and begin greeting grimaces with a smile because you’ll know rudeness tends to stem from an unhealed place. A Christian on a life long path towards healing, who invites Christ in to their journey and allows their new life in Him to be the catalyst, heals differently because their source of Strength never grows weak and their cup never runs dry.
As a Christian Functional Medicine Practitioner, I have learned that the greatest tool to healing and to living an abundant life is beginning with a solid foundation: our connection with God through Jesus Christ. As a result, the program and individual sessions I lead flow from a Biblical perspective and Christian worldview. I believe this is the best way to empower my clients to be good stewards of the unique God given body they have been given. From there, we work our way up to mineral repletion & circadian rhythm, to gut health, to detox systems, to hormones, which results in optimal health!
