you are fearfully and wonderfully made

Your wonderfully designed body tells a story, but you are not the main character, God is.

Your menstrual cycle and fluctuating hormones during each phase and the shedding of your uterine lining, tells us about a God of seasons, as it is written in Eccl 3:1-11.

Your thought patterns, ability to control your emotions, and rewire your brain, shows us a God whose words are living and active and whose Spirit is able to provide renewal, as it is written in Romans 12:1-2 “Do not be conformed to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Your ability to cry, the biochemistry of your tears and their impact on your responses, show us an empathetic God who cares for His creation by equipping us with measures to soothe our pain, until the day comes when He wipes all our tears away.

The shedding and renewal of your skin, blood cells, and hair, shows us our God is a God of regeneration. It also shows us a God who knows us so intimately, He even knows the number of hair on our head, even though that number constantly changes. “And even the very hairs of your head are numbered” (Luke 1:27).

The impact of chronic shame and being unforgiving has on our physical bodies, tells us the story of just how truly powerful the gifts of compassion, redemption, and forgiveness are.

But the thing is, it is not possible to give yourself the gift of true compassion and forgiveness, without knowing the One from which these powerful healing balms flow. And that is when it becomes essential to disrupt false narratives.

The science of our bodies does not replace the truth that there is a Biblical God and we need Him, it confirms it.

But when we get the narrative wrong, our actions, emotions, and purpose becomes blurred and we begin to lose sight of our true purpose: reach a lost and dying world. It also leads us into the application of false concepts and deceptive wisdom. Take these for example:

Though radical ownership is needed in your life, you are not the hero of your own story, if you were, why would you need Jesus?

It is not possible to cultivate Godly wisdom and bear fruit without spending time in God’s word and in prayer, if that were the case, why would He written the words:

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:16).

and

“All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

If it were possible to obtain salvation, or if the goal was to reach your “highest feminine energy” or “highest human potential” or “highest vibration,” on your own, with self love, why would repentance and the pursuit of Jesus ever be necessary? This concept would make these words void:

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promises as some count slowness, but is patient towards you, not wishing that any should perish, but all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

We are God designed, but many twist this concept into a false narrative. A narrative where they become the main character on the pursuit of enlightenment. But the story is actually about a God on the pursuit of redeeming His people. It is so important to be cautious of the narratives we are walking in and the concepts we are believing because it impacts our thoughts, behaviors, actions, and relationships. In world trying to confuse you with tempting deceptions, remember the living words:

“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits[a] of the world, and not according to Christ.” Colossians 2:8

And remember where true freedom and wisdom lies: Jesus. It is in Him where all the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge lie and where salvation can be found (Colossians 3:2).
